The Wedding Festival of the Year!

The other weekend was Bunz wedding. It was one of the most enjoyable events I have been to in quite some time. There were a few snags in the whole process. Not only were we dealing with a pregnant, hormone-driven bride, we had some drama with the original caterers, steady rain was in the forecast, and the bride's parents were struggling to get their way on many things. All in all, it was definitely a family affair and everything turned out as it should in the end. The key to all of this - keep everyone as calm as possible and try to make them happy even if it comes down to a compromise!

The original caters were ex-nayed a few weeks before the wedding so we had to scurry around to find one. It just so happened that I was informed of this late breaking news the day I had to run an errand to Aling Neri's restaurant. She's been a long-time vendor with FPAC and I've gotten to know her significantly since I started working with FilAm ARTS, FPAC and SIPA. She cooks some pretty adicting dishes. Her teriyaki sauce that she puts on her boneless bbq chicken is to die for! I don't know what she puts in it but I could eat that forever! She has THE BEST teriyaki bbq chicken on the face of this earth! Bunz is pretty in to her salmon, as well. Her ukoy, crunchy shrimp and a whole lot of other vegie goodies in the middle, is another favorite of Lola's Boy.

The spread at Bunz wedding was stupendous; lechon, salmon, teriyaki chicken, roast beef, pancit, vegies, and some of favorite Pinoy desserts - sapin sapin, kasava bibingka and leche flan. YUM! Despite the cold, my tummy was left warm and content from all the good eats.

The wedding cakes were from Porto's with chocolate and white cake layers filled with different pieces containing guava, strawberry and chocolote custard.

The wine and spirits were free flowing to quell anyone's thirst for drink and debauchery. It was stupendous! Man...I can only wish for more events like that!
